My fact writing

 Today in lock down I had to write a fact report on composting.We learned this because It was for an online task. What I had to do for this task was to write in a google doc about composting.

Composting

Have you ever heard of composting? I am going to tell you what composting is and how to use it.

What is it?

Composting is a great way to recycle by using leftover scrapes, vegetable, peels, fruit waste,plant clippings, grass cuttings and leaves that turns into compost soil.

How is it made?

You will need a  plastic bin or a wooden box. First you get a layer of brown waste like leaves,straw then another layer of green waste like fruit and vege scraps. Keep layering brown and green until you reach the top. Next add water for moisture. Add worms and then leave it to do its job.

The benefits of composting?

Composting is great for recycling our environment. We end up getting healthy plants and gardens for vegetables and flowers. It is great food for worms and insects and makes rich soil.

Conclusion

I think composting is good for keeping the environment free of more rubbish.  I have a compost bin at my house and I have seen how good it is to recycle our grass clippings and food scraps.  If we all got into it we will have one way to look after the earth.

  

My faith and trust word art

Kia ora Bloggers, Today in lockdown My online learning Was to create a word art about faith and trust.I learned this because it was for our task in lockdown. What I had to do for this task was to create a word art about what faith and trust mean. 

I put my words in shapes where you can design any words that you like. I enjoyed creating my word art. I found it challenging to remember how to writing the words in but luckily I solved it I want you to comment on anything you liked.

My amazing koru patterns

Kia ora Bloggers, Today in lockdown My online learning today is to draw some koru patterns on a piece of paper.I learned this because it was for the task I had to do today. I had to watch a video and draw some patterns from the story.

 I got a piece of paper, a pencil and crayons.And a black pen as the outline.I enjoyed coloring in my koru patterns I found it a little challenging to draw my koru patterns I want you to comment on anything you really enjoyed about my art

Outdoor Reading

Today in lockdown one of the tasks was to take a photo of me reading a book. Here I am reading my chapter book noddle in the afternoon sun. I was learning to do a task for lockdown which had to be an activity outside. I enjoyed being in the warm sun.I want you comment on anything you like about my photo. We were learning to get out and get active.

 

Native bird scavenger hunt .

Good afternoon Bloggers, Today I had to pick a bird from a native scavenger hunt and answer questions about the bird .I chose the kingfisher.

 I had to read a fact sheet about kingfishers and answer questions by writing them in my quality blog post I enjoyed looking at the different birds and choosing one that I liked and finding information about it. I found it challenging to search for how many eggs they lay.

Q What is the Maori name for a Kingfisher? 

A Kotare

 Q Where could I find other species of Kingfisher? 

A in NZ, Australia, New Caledonia, Norfolk and Kermadec Islands.

 Q What months of the year do kingfishers breed? 

A In early September and February. 

 Q Where do they nest? 

A In a wide range of tree sites, cliffs, banks and cuttings. 

Q How many eggs do they lay? 

A four to six white eggs.

Q What do they eat?

A Fish,Crabs,Lizards,Mice,Small Birds,Earthworms.

My funky hat creation

Good Afternoon Bloggers,

Our teacher told us to make and wear a funky hat to our google meet. My funky hat had some fake money with the word famous. I chose this hat because I liked the glitter word famous.That gave me the idea of being a rich and famous celebrity.

For this task I got the money out of the game Monopoly that had a lot of money in the box. I will take a screenshot of me wearing the famous hat. hope you think that it is creative

Dolphin Facts

Kia ora bloggers,Today in lockdown I created a slide about dolphins. I learned this because this was a part of my reading task. We have been learning to apply knowledge. We learnt this to help our story understanding. 

We had to read facts, find information in the text and write about it in a google slide. I enjoyed finding facts about dolphins and doing my picture background. I found it challenging to pick the right facts and information because there was a lot to choose from. I want you to comment on anything you liked. Hope you enjoy.
